STAFF REPORTS:

CM – Nothing new to report.

CS - Nothing new to report.

FN – Income of $605; expenses of $224.61; checking acct. balance $4,500.09.

IS - B. Dillard returning from Florida; rejoining Flotilla. Has accepted position of FSO-IS.

MA – Nothing new to report.

MS – No report.

MT – No information from DSO-MT on receiving training information. New Department Chief for training, Gail

Venezio. Deadline for Coxswain and pilots to complete ICS-210 extended to 04/01/2010. AuxCom course

Status is unknown. Trying to determine if Flotilla can continue using old book and exam.

OP – Good meeting at Chatfield State Park. Facility owners – be sure to get ready for patrol season. Need

patrol dates from Coxswains. “Kids Don’t Float” project update – received donation from Coleman of

4 PFD’s.

PA – Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon scheduled in May. Last year, Flotilla sponsored several attendees.

Highly recommend sponsoring again this year. Cost of luncheon is $30/each. United Veterans’ Comm.

of Colorado award banquet to be held Friday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Plaza Hotel, I-70 & Chambers.

In receipt of orders for Public Affairs C-School.

PE – Nothing new to report.

PS - Submitted membership application for D. Talcott. Working with 8 more perspective members.

PV – Three new program visits.

SR – Nothing new to report.

VE – Meeting with State Park at Chatfield – not yet sure of location for vessel checks. Planning to start

vessel checks at end of April. Decals not available yet; however, there is a good supply for our

Flotilla. VE Workshop was given at Division Meeting. D. Stark noted the “Kidde” fire extinguisher recall; if

pressure gauges are O.K., the extinguishers should pass inspection.

 

MOTIONS:

(1)    Motion by D. Aitken; second by F. Keating to adopt the March 2009 minutes; motion carried.

(2)    Motion by E. Warren, second by M. Blager to sponsor 4 people from Buckley Coast Guard Unit

to attend Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon, May 15th for a cost not to exceed $120; motion

passed.

(3) Motion by B. Wood; second by M. Blager to contribute $150 to Mutual Assistance Fund as

annual donation; motion carried.

(4) Motion by C. Nelson, second by F. Keating to purchase Seamanship Manual for new Crew &

Coxswain candidates; after discussion, motion withdrawn.

(5) Motion by D. Stark; second by T. Perrin to adjourn meeting; motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

(1) FSO-IS staff position filled by Bryant Dillard.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

(1) At the last Division meeting there was a proposal by some Division members to change name of the

Division newsletter in Standing Rules from “First Watch” to “Flagship”. At next Division Meeting, our FC

will vote to retain the name of “First Watch”, per the wishes of Flotilla members.

(2) Comments from Division Meeting:

-             TCT Class – taught by Tracey DeLaughter; was excellent.

-             Letter from Vice-Admiral R. J. Page read to members regarding taking care of team members.

-             New uniform discussed.

-             Many boat shows attended by Coastie.

-             Steve Luckensen from Park Service at Lake Powell gave presentation on CO poisoning.

-             Pricing on PE classes changed – new prices can be found on webpage.

-             Search Coordination & Research Course – trying to get someone from each Flotilla

trained to teach course.

-             OTO and a member from 11-S will attend OPEX at Lake Powell June 12, 13, & 14.

AWARDS:

M. Blager, M. Buttenwieser, Chris Greulich, D. Aitken, D. Stark, E. Warren presented various

awards that were presented at District and Division Meetings.
